There has been an expression of tributes across the wine trade for Michael Cox, the Europe director of Wines of Chile, who has died.
associate editor Tina Gellie added, 'He was never too busy to offer advice, give a quote for a tale or make himself available at the last minute, despite his hectic schedule.'Michael's second wife, Lynne, paid toll to an 'exceptional' man. 'He has insisted on carrying on with his habitual life as far as was humanly possible,' she said. 'He was able to continue in his role with Wines of Chile, and to complete his year as Master of the Vintners’ Companionship (which was extremely vital to him) whilst undergoing chemotherapy.' A private funeral for close family and friends will be held in the next ten days or so, followed by a memorial benefit for wider friends and colleagues in the next six weeks.
